Zack Space Tours
Zack Space, a candidate for Ohio's 18th Congressional District seat, visited the Base Campus of the COATC on Wednesday, November 1.

November 1, 2006

At the invitation of the Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority, Zack Space toured The Base and got better acquainted with the people and work of the major tenants here. His visit included a roundtable discussion with tenant personnel, including officials from the Port Authority, Boeing, and Bionetics. He also toured the grounds of the COATC.

A 2005 review of personnel records found that in addition to the Base being the largest defense-related facility located in the 18th Congressional District, 55% of personnel live in the 18th District.

Space provided a brief interview with Base Radio during his site tour.

The invitation was part of the Port Authority's ongoing caucus-building strategy aimed at increasing knowledge among federal, state, and local officials about the value and impact of the COATC. Joy Padgett, Republican candidate in the 18th Congressional district, toured the facility in September.
