DRONE TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATION PLANNED
Port Authority Hosting MISTRAS Group Drone Inspection of Boeing Building

HEATH, OHIO – The Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority, in cooperation with MISTRAS Group, will conduct a live demonstration of drone technology as part of a building inspection project. The demonstration will be open to the news media.

A media availability will begin Wednesday, May 3 at 9:30 a.m. at the western entrance to the Boeing Building on the campus of the Central Ohio Aerospace & Technology Center at 801 Irving Wick Drive West in Heath. A drone-flying demonstration will occur at that time for video and still photography immediately followed by a question and answer session at the entrance to the building.

MISTRAS Group is conducting a building structural review of the Boeing Building, owned by the Port Authority, using drone technology. Construction of the Boeing Building began in 1952 and structural elements will be inspected for the first time in 65 years via drone technology.

Boeing security requirements will be in place restricting use of photography to certain, designated areas. Identification will be required for all persons entering the building.
