PORT AUTHORITY CELEBRATES 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY
HEATH, OHIO – Today marked the 10-year anniversary of the Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority. Current and past Board members of the Port Authority as well as personnel of the Port Authority’s tenant customers at the Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center were on hand to celebrate the anniversary at The Base.
The Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority was formed through a joint agreement of the Licking County Commissioners and the cities of Heath and Newark which was signed on May 18, 1995.
Licking County Commissioner Marcia Phelps, Heath Mayor Dan Dupps, and Newark Mayor Bruce Bain joined longtime Base advocate and the first executive director of the Port Authority, Wally Horton, in a cake-cutting ceremony as part of the celebration.
Former Licking County Commissioner Don Hill, one of the original signers of the 1995 joint agreement, was on hand. Other attendees included past Port Authority chairmen Lew Mollica and Dan DeLawder as well as current chairman Steve Layman.
