HEATH – The Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority will celebrate the opening of a new section of walking path at The Base tomorrow. Heath Mayor Richard Waugh will help kick off the inaugural walk on the new path.

The walking path is a product of Base personnel suggestions over the years and was supported by on-site surveys showing 80% of personnel desired a walking path among the quality of work life amenities on the campus. This path is the first leg of what is expected to be a three leg connection between the Heath Recreation Center located at The Base and the Heath Water Park. It is also hoped that the path can eventually become an industrial and recreational stop over point on the Licking County Recreational Trail network.

This is a photo opportunity that will begin at the base of the water tower on the west side of The Base in Heath.
