Boeing Chairman Condit Visits Heath
Friday, May 9, 2003
The COATC hosted a visit by Boeing Company Chairman and CEO Phil Condit as part of the 2003 Point to Point with Phil Condit tour of Boeing's U.S. operations. Heath was the last stop on a tour that began May 5th. Boeing is listed 15th on the Fortune magazine list of the world's largest companies.

The visit here to the Boeing Guidance Repair Center (BGRC) was Condit's first since Boeing etablished operations here in 1997. BGRC is Boeing's largest facility in Ohio. Ohio is an important state for the aerospace industry and is home to many of Boeing's largest suppliers.

Condit's visit included a "town hall meeting" with Boeing's 600 Heath employees. During the visit, Condit recognized BGRC for its role as Boeing's Strategic Center for defense electronics, guidance, and navigation repair. He also presented awards recognizing several Boeing and contractor teams for their work.

Condit's visit comes on the heels of recent visits to COATC by U.S. Senator George Voinovich, Congressman Bob Ney, and officials of the Ohio Aerospace and Defense Council. These V.I.P. visits serve to raise the profile of COATC among corporate and government officials involved with the defense industry.
